Memphis, NOT Just Rhythm

When you think of the name Memphis, immediately the  beautiful city Southwest corner in the State of Tennessee comes to mind. Memphis is in the tri-State area of Mississippi and Arkansas. It’s home to the Pyramid, and Bass Pro Shop Blues City Cafe, BB King Cafe, Federal Express Headquarters, the FedEx Forum, Memphis Grizzlies and Red Bird Stadium. 

 

Other beautiful places like the Peabody Hotel and Soulsville Museum and Stax Music Studio. Soulsville USA school and recording studio has recorded musical artists ie: Otis Redding, The Staple Singers, Issac Hayes, to name a few. 

 

Memphis is famous for Elvis Presley Mansion, The Lorraine Motel/Civil Rights Museum dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and soon BLP the largest Black-owned film studio in the United States “BLP Film Studios,” an 85-acre production facility in Whitehaven.

Memphis, Egypt

Memphis is the city and capital of Ancient Egypt. Memphis is located south of the Nile River delta, on the west bank. Its location is about 15 miles (24 km) south of modern Cairo. Memphis is where the famous pyramids of Egypt are located and associated with the ancient city’s site are the cemeteries of necropolises. From north to south the main pyramid fields are Abū RuwayshGiza, Zāwiyat al-ʿAryān, Abū ṢīrṢaqqārah, and Dahshūr. The Memphis archaeological zone was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979.

 

The plateau is filled with ancient art structures and artifacts of cultural-historical significance. The Memphis open-air museum at Mit Rahina is a diversion between Saqqara and Giza. It has a number of statues belonging to Ramses II, and sphinx, pieces of other statues, and the colossi of Ramses II.
