Affiliate Marketing what you should know

Do you know your affiliate products?

Is Affiliate Marketing a myth created by large companies to push products and services to increase profits and customers? This is partially correct. However, affiliate marketing isn’t a myth. Although products are being promoted, the publisher (You) can earn vast amounts of money overtime. Here are a few key ingredients you should do to aid your quest for residual passive income for decades;

  1. Find something you’d like to sell preferably, something you plan on using for yourself. This will pay off in the long run when things are slow. It’s like paying yourself. If your family uses the products, then even better. It’s the best way to gain product knowledge and become an efficient promoter/publisher. Note: Only with physical products can you receive residual cash backs. Service type assets pay only once, because you create an account which doesn’t require additional clicks.

  2. Sign up with a network or a single online business by scrolling to the bottom of the home page. Look for the label: Affiliate Program.

  3. Learn terminology, i.e. SEO, sales funnels, email marketing, banner ad, assets, deep linking, data capture, conversion, PPC,… check out previous articles.

  4. A good sales funnel will put your business on auto pilot. Having a great syndicate to distribute to all your channels is vital. A sales funnel is the marketing term for the journey potential customers go through on the way to purchase.

Do you know your product and service? Have you used these products? The better you understand, the products you’re selling, it will add value to the customer. Sharing your story of product usage with your customer makes them feel safe and eliminates fear of risk. Selling is easy if you learn how to eliminate consumer buying fears.

Consumer Buying Fears:

  • #1: Your potential customers don’t want to be sold.

  • #2: They don’t want to risk regret afterward.

  • #3: The fear of being lied to.

  • #4: Is the product worth the money?

  • #5: Fear of the unknown.

  • #6: Bad experiences stop them from buying.

  • #7: When someone badmouths a product.

  • #8: Company prejudices, the poor reputation of a brand.

  • #9: Use of trigger words: Sign on the dotted line, payment, billing

Passive income concept.

Consistency is a key factor to success because it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s not about click bait, fancy websites, or coercion although aesthetics help attract organic traffic. Its passive income. Organic traffic are those visitors landing on your website from unpaid sources, aka essentially free traffic. Organic sources here include search engines like Google, Yahoo, or Bing. Therefore, SEO, sharing and constant traffic are important.

FTC requires affiliates to inform consumers they’ve partnered with brands for commissions. Truth is, everyone, including large corporations, has affiliate marketing ads. How many times have you seen their ads on the right side of your inbox, or on someone else’s website, or on Facebook? A good example of this would be newspapers, magazines, blogs, search engines online.

Wherever you see an unaffiliated ad (advertisement that has nothing to do with the actual website), it’s an affiliated website, although many do not disclose this information. An example of a non-disclosure would be: “click here for a free laptop or Big screen TV, but first you must complete 4 offers.” Before you complete those 4 offers, you’ll become exhausted, or possibly give up before receiving anything tangible, and they know it. The philosophy is, 3 out of 4 offers isn’t bad. You won’t receive a laptop, but look out for those children’s books @ $1.00 or senior supplements for back pain. All you have to pay is $4.99 for shipping and handling.

Have you done this?

  1. Consistency, stability and valuable content creation matter. Analytic tracking, cookies for retargeting, and sales funnels also matter.

  2. If you have your own product or service, you can start your own affiliate program. This will increase sharing across the board.

  3. Sharing is better than a like. It’s great they like it, but it isn’t moving anywhere online. Essentially, you are sharing subscribers and the strategy is to be seen everywhere.

  4. Some hire professional freelance writers and use marketing software to distribute their content worldwide.

  5. They all partner with other websites, social media groups, pages and blogs by agreeing to place your ads on their site and vice-a-verse.

  6. Customer service. A good CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software or plugin, outsourced to help with heavy lifting. You can’t make money with customers if there isn’t a relationship. HubSpot integration is great for CRM.

  7. Got to give the people what they want, so surveys, feedback forms, and email subscribers’ communication are important. Ask questions.

  8. Learning how to write code is a bonus to your skill-set, but it isn’t a requirement. HTML is the way to become an advertiser but also a great way to share your brand’s advertisement with other affiliates. It will help you show up in more places online. The more places you appear, the more traffic you’ll receive, tag everything.

Success has its own momentum.

Affiliate Marketing is a team driven business. Affiliates may use several websites, but all you need is one. The best practices for affiliates are sharing and subscriptions. Get friends and family to share your assets to get the ball rolling.

The facts are, many have a large following, tons of likes, comments on social media and zero revenue. They’re limited to a group or page and people they know very little about. Social media gives you analytics without the “who, where, email, why”. There’s a vast difference between 1 million fans on social media compared to 1 million fans in your own domain. You can’t have a relationship without knowing your customer.

Hire a freelancer from Fiverr or Upwork, to share via their blog, or pass out flyers and business cards, or possibly ad placement on their social media pages; essentially, you are trying to create a “snowball effect” where it rolls and collects more snow. Unstoppable! This is where a great sales funnel comes in handy. One day all of those links, banner ads payoff and payments hit your cash account like the ringing of a bell.

It’s a numbers game. It’s not about who you know, but where you show up online. Woud you like to see your ad on Yahoo? The online universe is yours. Expand your reach to cities, countries globally because the more the merrier. If you have done none of these things, then you’re dreaming of online success.ll
