If anything matters, everything matters.
I lay sick, dying, and in pain on a hospital bed without a diagnosis. I was dying and nobody understood or knew why, but they knew it was blood poisoning. My white blood count was extremely high, fighting off a terrible infection. They prescribed intravenous antibiotics to cleanse my blood and other meds to reduce inflammation. The infection was so severe it caused fluid around my heart. It caused this excruciating pain in my left flank. They called the Infectious Disease Control Department.
If everything has meaning, why aren’t you doing better? Others believe humans developed from apes, fish, or some lower species. Yet, humans are at the top of the food chain. All human beings are aware of a higher power. Because they cannot wake themselves each day, spin the planet in orbit, or see the air they breathe; It’s a sign they’re not in charge. Therefore, many of us speak to God or some other deity. Many people live with the spirituality of being a good person without religion. However, nothing brings a person to believe like the threat of dying.
When mental worry and helplessness consume your mind, we pray. People pray for hope, charity, money, strength, births, food, etc. They pray because at that moment; what’s needed is a supernatural power that is not present in the natural realm, a power that surpasses all understanding. However, praying on your knees isn’t enough. If you do not have faith, you might as well stand up. (“The Lord’s Prayer” is a prayer for better conditions) What do you do in times of stress?
Quit haunting your mind
We all have mental chatter. Even animals have mental chatter. These are thoughts we tell ourselves. When mental chatter is out of control, you act without facts but with feelings (irrational). Mental chatter can be a horror movie for some people because it plays over and over in their minds like a broken record.
“You can’t go by what you feel. Go by what you know.” ~ Joel Osteen.
Cognitive behavior therapy
Did you know writers have more mental chatter than the average person? Many autistic people have an overload of mental chatter, which causes some to strike themselves in the head. People with a chemical imbalance of brain fluid suffer from mental depression are on prescribed medication/s because of negative mental chatter. (CBT) Has helped treat a range of mental health issues, mainly because of the negative voices in our heads. In a nutshell, CBT teaches a person to recognize the negative thought processes they fall back on, and then consciously creates a new thought—one that’s more based in reality—to replace it. e.g. If you dream of losing. Try to lie back down—dream the same dream—this time win.
Meditation
The aim isn’t to quiet the chatter but to control it. There’s no way to quiet mental chatter because it’s your thinking stuff. They make dreams possible. Without mental chatter, you’d become a vegetable; asleep, in a daze, walking around with your eyes open. The idea is to put your mind at ease, “peace of mind.” Find a quiet place to write your thoughts down. Control them with the sounds of tranquilizing music. The atmosphere is important, so get a happy place or create one in your home, office, and mind. Get your proper rest at night. Meditate on things that bring you joy.
Practice self-acceptance and mindfulness
If you dislike what you see in the mirror, eat, wear, or listen to, change it. Self-appreciation starts with acceptance. Build on what you do not have. Develop mental strength with fortifying knowledge. A positive self-image is important. Be careful what you tell yourself. Consciously practice daily affirmations and self-love talk in your mirror daily or negative thoughts will flood your thinking space. Take action by taking care of yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. You do not need anyone’s permission to improve your condition.
Talking with others and helping
- Give your time, talent, or treasure today to someone who doesn’t need it or deserve it. Developed actions such as giving nurtures relationships with others.
- Make your relationship with God the #1 priority in your life by seeking his guidance first. There is no shame in asking for help. Quit complaining and cease from anger. Nurture whatever spiritual life you have. You can’t complete goals without physical vitality. Nurture the body too.
- Pray for others instead of passing judgment. Helping folks find peace of mind is more beneficial than you know. You might find a friend.
- Attend wellness groups, yoga classes, a bible-based church or get a personal trainer or life coach. Quit haunting your own mind.
